Goodman Manufacturing is a subsidiary of the world’s largest HVAC manufacturer, the Daikin Group. The company was founded by Harold V. Goodman, who was an HVAC dealer, in 1975. Although Goodman started by manufacturing flexible air ducts and plastic blade registers, his goal was to offer affordable heating and cooling equipment to families everywhere. He achieved that goal when Goodman Manufacturing purchased the HVAC company Janitrol in 1982, and they now offer residential air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, and air handlers as well as other comfort equipment. In search of expanding its reach in the HVAC market, Goodman purchased a real estate technology company in 2018.

The parent company of Goodman Manufacturing, Daikin, built a state-of-the-art facility near Houston, Texas. The first Goodman air conditioner and gas furnace units to come of the new facility’s manufacturing line was in October 2016. The entire construction of the $400 million project was completed in 2017 leading to the consolidation of all Goodman Manufacturing teams: Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, and Customer Support..
